A significant aspect of hydrologic analysis is the availability of a wide range of physical, hydrologic, and meteorological data used to support various types of analyzes. In addition, with the advent of geographical information system (GIS) technology, spatial data has become almost as important. The Office of Water Resources is chartered with collecting and maintaining all of this data as it relates to Alabama’s water resources. Although not complete, efforts are underway to organize the current data and provide access to interested citizens and public and private groups. We will keep you posted as this effort progresses.
