Town of Ranburne
The Town of Ranburne purchased a new, fully equipped fire truck, installed 11 fire hydrants, and upgraded existing water lines with a $249,663 Community Enhancement Grant from ADECA’s Community Development Block Grant Program. The Ranburne Volunteer Fire Department previously had only one truck purchased used over 20 years ago, no internal backup, and over 500 houses in its service area. The service area also included 25 local businesses, several churches and a school, as well as over 100 chicken houses which could cost over $100,000 each to replace in the event of a fire. In addition to increasing fire protection, the project also alleviated low water pressure problems and lowered residents’ insurance premiums. The Town of Ranburne and the Ranburne Volunteer Fire Department contributed $54,382 and $48,913 respectively toward a project that will save lives and property.
