Renewable Energy Program
The Energy Division's Renewable Energy Program promotes the adoption of renewable energy technologies in Alabama as a method to increase energy security and environmental sustainability. The Division plans to raise consumer awareness and acceptance of available biofuel, biomass, solar and biogas technologies through the demonstration of renewable energy technologies and active outreach.
Four focus areas have been identified for the Renewable Energy Program in Alabama : Biofuels, Biomass, Solar and Biogas. The Energy Division is actively working to develop partnerships and expand outreach for the program.
The objectives of the Renewable Energy Program are carried out not only through this program, but also through the Agriculture Energy Program, the Alternative Transportation Fuels Program, and the Biomass Energy Program. Current renewable energy projects are described under these programs and may be viewed by clicking on the links above.
