The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs Workforce Development Division, as the administrator of the Workforce Investment Act for the State of Alabama, is requesting waivers of current Workforce Investment Act language in order to implement changes to the Workforce Investment Act, as approved by the U.S. House of Representatives in H.R. 1261. These waiver requests are being sent to the U.S. Department of Labor. The areas for which waivers are being requested are: Eligible Training Provider List; Incumbent Worker Training at the local area level; and Workforce Investment Board membership. The purpose of these waivers is to gain more flexibility for State and local administration of the Workforce Investment Act.
