Hurricane Katrina’s Impact on Dauphin Island, Alabama

This aerial imagery of Dauphin Island is being made available for the benefit of residents and property owners and other interested citizens to help view and assess the extent of damages resulting from Hurricane Katrina.

This image was collected by the ADECA Office of Water Resources on September 1, 2005 from an approximate altitude of 5,000 feet.  Portions of some of the images have areas in solid black that failed to process correctly.

Please use the map of Dauphin Island above to find specific images.  Find the approximate location of property or area of interest.  Then click on the grid in which it lies.  The individual image file will automatically appear in your browser window.  The image can be saved to your computer by clicking on “File”, then “Save As”, and assigning a specific location.  Images can be zoomed for a higher resolution by saving to your PC and using standard image viewing tools such as Windows Picture and Fax Viewer in Windows XP.

Imagery for additional areas in Alabama hit by Hurricane Katrina is being collected and will be posted on this site as soon as available.
