Industrial Technologies Program

The Alabama Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) follows the national mission of the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) ITP to reduce energy consumption in Alabama’s most energy-intensive industries.  Energy-intensive industry sectors include aluminum, chemicals, forest products, glass, metal casting, mining, petroleum refining, and steel. Alabama partners with industries, DOE, and universities to help identify opportunities to decrease costs, increase energy efficiency, and reduce waste from production, industrial processes, and management.  Lower production costs can help make Alabama products more competitive on the global market.
