Surplus Property Sales

After property is held for a period of time to allow eligible organizations an opportunity to purchase it, it is sold to the public. These sales may be by Sealed Bid or Public Auction.

Sealed Bids are conducted as needed and generally involve major items. Each sealed bid is advertised in at least one major newspaper, but often in at least three. Detail information will also be available on this website. Advertisements appear approximately two weeks before the bid opening date.

Most property sold through auctions is sold through a public outcry auction. These are held three times each year, and include automobiles, boats, tools, trailers, computers, office furniture, and much more. The auctions are held at the Surplus Property Warehouse, 4401 Northern Blvd., Montgomery Alabama (Click here for a map). Auctions are also held at the Eva Warehouse in Eva, Alabama (Click here for a map). Each auction is advertised in at least one major newspaper. To receive notification about upcoming auctions you may complete the registration form (Click here for form). A flyer providing a general description of the property will be E-mailed to you about a week before the auction.
